Word Of The Week
From Pastor Brian
You may have seen that the Mississippi Department of Health recommends that, for the time being, people not attend church in person because of a recent spike in cases of Covid-19. We want you to know where Riverbend stands on that recommendation. Though we have great respect for our state officials, we will continue to meet for all of our regular services, including LifeGroups, at this time. We believe church services are essential, and therefore we must continue to meet.
Please take extra precautions. First of all, we ask you to use your best judgment about whether or not you should come to in-person services at this moment. Some of you may have good reasons to stay home right now. If that is you, we encourage you to do so. Second, if you do come, we ask that you sit with your family, that you socially distance yourself from others, and that you continue to wear your mask throughout the service.
We have had a few cases of Covid among our church members over the last few months, but we are fortunate that we have so far not had an outbreak in our congregation. That's at least in part because you have made wise decisions while you are at church. Thank you for everything you have done!
We are praying that we will be on the other side of this pandemic soon and look forward to the day when we can gather in the way in which we are accustomed. In the meantime, we continue to take extra steps to make sure the church is clean while you are here. We ask you to take the proper precautions also. We will regularly reevaluate what we are doing, and if we need to make any more changes, we will do so. In the meantime, pray that we can continue to reach our city and our world for Jesus!
