This is a word that so many fear & disdain & yet change is a constant in life. For us today, we find ourselves in the midst of a major change in the life of our church family. This is most likely for a lot of us the first time we have experienced this type of change and all the emotions, fears, & uncertainty that follow the transition from one pastor to another.
As we have begun planning for this time of transition, alongside all the varying emotions we’ve been experiencing, there has also developed a sense of expectation at what the Lord has in store in the coming days for Riverbend Church. Our prayer for this time as we search for the next leader of our church, is that we would be of the same heart and mind as Paul in his letter to the Ephesians, when he exclaimed;
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, Amen!”
Ephesians 3:20-21
May we approach this time with expectation of what the Lord in His power will work in and through us and in the one He is already raising up to be our next pastor. Let us pray in faith for those things the Lord is able to do “far more abundantly than all that we ask or think”
